Standing in the rain, with his head hung low
Couldn’t get a ticket, it was a sold out show
Heard the roar of the crowd, he could picture the scene
Put his ear to the wall, then like a distant scream
Waiting for the new Rilo Kiley (Jenny Lewis has excellent thighs. A good sturdy lass to obsess over) record is a pain. I could, I guess, acquire it, then buy it when it comes out. Or I could wait. But you see, the release date, the 20th August, 2007, might be a busy day. Or at least a happy day. Or a day of great import. The fact it is a day cannot be disputed. Or it can, but let us not get into that right now.
He heard one guitar, just blew him away
He saw stars in his eyes, and the very next day
Bought a beat up six string in a secondhand store
Didnt know how to play it, but he knew for sure
Laying foundations is a troublesome exercise, but nothing is concrete, all can be moved. The three years now I have been here, has everything changed? There is no looking back, there never has been. It is all about happiness. Nothing ever changes without any pain, but nothing worthwhile is given. Unless it is the heart and soul of another, the covenant I agreed to. But yes, everything has changed. Everything? That is quite a claim, but it is true. Isn’t there continuity? No, there isn’t.
That one guitar, felt good in his hands
Didnt take long, to understand
Just one guitar, slung way down low
Was one way ticket, only one way to go
The chain is only as strong as its weakest link, natch. Obv. Take off the links, the ones that crumble to nothing, and you get left with the end in sight. Hurrah!
So he started rockin
Aint never gonna stop
Gotta keep on rockin
Someday hes gonna make it to the top
Very English roots cling to the new castle.
Hurrah, congrats.
Now, will those castors make it over the speed humps in sawston highstreet
