First response from Cambridge City Council on my Freedom of Information request about the traffic lights on the Madingley Road (I didn’t mention my conspiracy theory to them, of course):
From: FOI <FOI@cambridge.gov.uk> To: me Subject: Re: Request for information from Marc Kerr Date: Fri, 17 Aug 2007 08:17:15 +0100 Dear Mr Kerr Thank you for your enquiry. This request, however, falls outside the jurisdiction of the City Council. Traffic lights are managed by Cambridgeshire County Council. I have forwarded your request to them at email address: foi@cambridgeshire.gov.uk Kind regards, ------ --------- Performance Analyst
Now that is a quick and helpful response, I wonder if the County Council, Cassandra’s erstwhile employers of sorts, will be as quick.
And I wonder if Cambridge fund terrorists?
Well, nice pass of the buck. My first thing to wonder is whether they have reset the clock on the FOI request time limit or whether, as it would be if a request were to be passed between parts of the MOD, the clock is still ticking from the first receipt of your request.

Aendr: Well, I have yet to receive confirmation that the county council received it, so I may have to chase that. And complain. But I give them a bit more time.
cjb: It is (oh, don’t start me. A chick, let us leave it at that.)
